About Our Service

Senior Match Care is a marketplace that connects families seeking senior care with qualified caregivers through short video consultations. We charge families $20 per 10-minute call. Caregivers receive $5 for each completed consultation. Our services are currently available in San Mateo County, California.

Privacy of Call Content & Health Information

Video calls on Senior Match Care are conducted over third-party infrastructure and may be recorded, transcribed, and reviewed by our staff for quality assurance, safety, and moderation purposes. By using the platform, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • We are not a HIPAA-covered entity. Senior Match Care is not a healthcare provider, health plan, or healthcare clearinghouse, and our platform is not a secure channel for protected health information (PHI). You should not rely on our service for confidential transmission of medical records, diagnoses, or other health data subject to federal or state privacy laws.
  • Caregivers are independent contractors. We do not employ caregivers and cannot guarantee that any information you share during a call will be kept confidential by them. Caregivers may discuss, remember, or repeat information shared during consultations.
  • Calls are transcribed automatically. Transcripts and AI-generated summaries of your calls are stored on our servers and may be reviewed by Senior Match Care staff for dispute resolution, policy enforcement, quality improvement, and safety investigations.
  • You should exercise discretion. We recommend you limit the sensitive medical, financial, or personal information disclosed during introductory calls. Share only what is necessary to evaluate whether the caregiver is a good fit.
  • Third-party processors. We rely on external vendors (including our video, transcription, payment, messaging, and email providers) to operate the platform. These vendors may process your information under their own terms of service and privacy policies, and we do not maintain Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) with them.

If your care situation involves highly sensitive medical information, you should consult directly with a licensed healthcare professional through a HIPAA-compliant channel rather than our platform.

For Families

By using our platform as a family member, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information about your care needs
  • Treat caregivers with respect during all interactions
  • Make timely payments for booked calls
  • Conduct your own independent background checks on caregivers before hiring

For Caregivers

By using our platform as a caregiver, you agree to:

  • Provide truthful and accurate information about your qualifications and experience
  • Maintain current certifications relevant to your listed skills
  • Attend scheduled calls professionally and punctually
  • Not misrepresent your skills, experience, or availability

SMS Communications

Senior Match Care sends SMS text messages to registered users as part of the platform experience. These messages include call reminders, booking confirmations, and account notifications related to your use of the service.

  • Message frequency varies based on your usage of the platform (e.g., booking calls, receiving reminders).
  • Message and data rates may apply.
  • For help, reply HELP to any message or contact us through our contact page.
  • To stop receiving messages, reply STOP to any message. You may also opt out by contacting us through our contact page.
  • By creating an account and checking the SMS consent box during signup, you consent to receive these messages.
  • We do not send marketing or promotional messages. All SMS communications are transactional and related to your use of the platform.

Independent Contractors

Caregivers on our platform are independent contractors, not employees of Senior Match Care. Families and caregivers negotiate all care arrangements — including rates, schedules, and scope of care — directly and independently outside of our platform.

Background Checks

Senior Match Care reviews caregiver profiles before approval, but we do not conduct comprehensive background checks. Families are solely responsible for verifying caregiver qualifications and conducting any background checks they deem necessary before entering into a care arrangement.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Our platform is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind. We make no representations or warranties regarding caregiver qualifications, care quality, or the outcome of any care arrangement made through our platform.

Limitation of Liability

Senior Match Care shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our platform or any care arrangements made through it.

Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account at our discretion if we determine that a user has violated these Terms of Service or engaged in conduct harmful to our community.
